The Doritos Crunch Cup is back at Comic Con Africa 2023

The Doritos Crunch Cup, in partnership with Comic Con Africa, is back in Johannesburg – gamers go head-to-head for cash prizes.

The tournament, which is free-to-enter for anyone attending Comic Con Africa, will span the entire four-day event (22-25 September 2023), and give gamers the chance to try their hands at Call of Duty, FIFA, Street Fighter, and Fortnite. Registration takes place between 09H00 to 10H30 daily at the Doritos Crunch Cup Free Play Zone. Spots are limited to 128 per day, so get there fast to ensure you get a chance to crunch the competition. You’ll want to plan your ticket-buying accordingly as each day has its own game set:

Friday, 22 September: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II,
Saturday, 23 September: FIFA 23,
Sunday, 24 September: Street Fighter 6,
Monday, 25 September (public holiday): Fortnite

All tournaments will be 1v1, played on PlayStation 5 consoles, and will be single elimination. So you have more ways than one to try and win your share of more than R32 000 in prize money!

Something new to this year’s event gamers will have the opportunity to “Beat the Pro” each day. This allows fans to raise their hand from the crowd and show off their skill against a professional in each title, and you stand the chance to win R1000 if they emerge victorious from the head-on-head battle, so BE BOLD you might just have what it takes to win.
