A Magical Getaway at Lefika Villas + Despicable Me 4

Whisked Away to Lefika Villas

I was recently whisked away on an unforgettable Despicable Me 4 getaway by United International Pictures South Africa (UIPSA), and I cannot rave enough about the absolutely spectacular Lefika Villas at Sun City. From the moment I arrived, I was in awe of this place. The villa was like an entire house – two storeys with an unbelievable view.

My main bedroom was immaculate, boasting an even more epic view, if that was possible, and a magnificently spacious ensuite with a shower to rival my wildest fantasies. The welcome was equally grand with surprise goodie bags and a lovely presentation spread, including Despicable Me chocolates!

A beach towel, a keyring, some wine, and a delightful food platter assortment. I brought my adorable minion-loving niece and my parents along, and the serene, peaceful vibes of the villa made waking up to actual tranquillity every day truly magical. 🤩🙌

The Hilarious Joy of Despicable Me 4

Here for the Despicable Me 4 getaway movie screening at Sun City Resort with UIPSA, I must say, the movie was nothing short of amazing! It brought back all the vibes from the first film that I wanted so very much. The hilarious comedy had the whole cinema in stitches. There’s something incredibly heartwarming about experiencing the sound of kids laughing and giggling at the funniest parts. The electric energy in the air was palpable. Seeing the unbridled joy and wonder on my adorable minion niece’s face and in her eyes was singularly the most overwhelming moment I’ve had with her so far. She had the most fun of any of us on this trip and kept saying she never wanted to leave.

Adorable Characters and Fun Activities

Junior, aka Baby Gru, is adorableness overload! The minions will forever be the funniest of all, their antics making me laugh like a hyena. The super-powered intro of the Mega-Minions was a highlight. My niece got to make crazy cupcakes and played at the fun jumping castles set up for the kids. It was a whole day of fun activities laid out for the kids to enjoy, including life-size Gru and his minions. The way the kids ran and screamed when they arrived – you’d think it was Beyoncé or something! UIPSA truly went all out with this event.

A Wild and Wonderful Safari Adventure

The afternoon was wild and wonderful as we embarked on a safari drive with MK curated by Sun City Resort and UIPSA. We saw some of the Big 5 and had some hilarious moments, including mistaking a rock/mound of dirt for an animal for over 30 minutes. I even had an iconic Titanic moment, standing up with the wind whipping at me, majestically swaying my arms outstretched. This safari was a thrilling addition to our already incredible trip, adding an element of adventure and excitement.

A Must-Watch Family Film

Definitely take your kids to watch Despicable Me 4 – they are going to love it. Waking up to the most perfect sunrise I’ve ever seen from my balcony view in the Lefika Villas remains one of the supreme highlights of this whole trip. Breakfast was dastardly delectable and delicious. 🤩

This entire experience was truly unforgettable – a complete escape from the world made all the more amazing by watching a movie premiere this way. It was pure joy to enjoy the film and every moment of the trip.

For families especially, Despicable Me 4 is a must-watch in cinemas. Seeing the laughter and joy on children’s faces makes it worth every moment. Therefore, I’m giving it a solid 8 rating.

EDITORS NOTE: The charm of seeing Gru and his Minions get up to mischief is one that I don’t want to end, bring on Despicable Me 5! Illumination has mastered the beautiful animations within the film and captured the emotions of the characters, Baby (Junior) has some of the funniest moments in the film and I have to say I really enjoyed the film, there was many laughs to be had, and the new villain certainly changes the dynamic of what is possible in the Despicable Me universe.
