The development of Marvel Rivals is being undertaken by a fresh in-house team at NetEase Games, which, according to NetEase, comprises worldwide professionals who have prior experience with successful franchises like Call of Duty and Battlefield.

Marvel Rivals is a Free-To-Play 6v6 team-based game, with a third-person perspective, as we know with online team-based games other modes will be introduced at a later date, so we can expect more awesome modes in the future. The Game will launch first on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.

The trailer also exhibited 19 playable characters of heroes and villains. Marvel Rivals has a combination art style which for me is leaning heavily toward Valorant and Overwatch, so if you like those two games, this will be right up your alley.

Battle as your favorite Super Heroes and Villains in unique worlds across the Marvel Multiverse!

“The merciless clash between tyrannical dictator Doctor Doom and his future counterpart from the year 2099 has forced countless universes to collide in the Timestream Entanglement, creating new worlds and crises unknown. Now, Super Heroes and Villains from across the multiverse must fight together and against one another as disparate groups each seek to best both Dooms before one achieves domination of these realities. Familiar faces become newfound foes while former enemies become the greatest of allies in Marvel Rivals! “

As we can see from the trailer, we can expect the following roster:

  • Rocket Racoon
  • Star-Lord
  • Black Panther
  • Iron Man
  • Doctor Strange
  • Scarlet Witch
  • Namor
  • Magneto
  • Magik
  • Storm
  • Peni Parker
  • Luna Snow
  • Loki
  • Bruce Banner/Hulk
  • Spider-Man
  • Groot
  • Mantis
  • Punisher
  • Magneto

Marvel Rivals’ release date has yet to be confirmed, but a closed alpha for the game will begin in May, which you’ll be able to sign up for by visiting the game’s website.
