PlayStation has just announced the PS5 Pro, the upgraded version of the PS5, in their latest technical presentation. Mark Cerny, the system architect, provided a brief overview of the console’s enhanced performance compared to the standard PS5, with a major focus on blending Fidelity and Performance graphical modes to offer something in between with the new, more powerful hardware. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As detailed in the PlayStation blog post<\/a>, the PS5 Pro Game Boost promises to work on more than 8,500 backward-compatible PS4 games too. \u201cEnhanced Image Quality for PS4 games is also available to improve the resolution on select PS4 games,\u201d said PlayStation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PS5 Pro\u2019s key performance features below:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Upgraded GPU<\/strong>: With PS5 Pro, we are upgrading to a GPU <\/strong>that has 67% more Compute Units than the current PS5 console and 28% faster memory. Overall, this enables up to 45% faster rendering for gameplay, making the experience much smoother.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Advanced Ray Tracing<\/strong>: We\u2019ve added even more powerful ray tracing that provides more dynamic reflection and refraction of light. This allows the rays to be cast at double, and at times triple, the speeds of the current PS5 console.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AI-Driven Upscaling<\/strong>: We\u2019re also introducing PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, an AI-driven upscaling that uses a machine learning-based technology to provide super sharp image clarity by adding an extraordinary amount of detail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Design, release date, and price of the PS5 Pro<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Sony has revealed the design, launch date, and price of the PS5 Pro, and it’s on the higher end. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The console will be available for $699.99, \u00a3699.99, \u20ac799.99, and \u00a5119,980 JPY (including taxes). South African pricing for the Pro is still pending confirmation, and we will keep you updated as soon as we have that information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PS5 Pro will launch on 7 November 2024 with pre-orders opening up on 26 September 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
