Deadzone: Rogue<\/strong> Reviewed on PC<\/mark><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As you wake up aboard the ISS-X with nothing but a pistol and no memories of who you are or why you\u2019re there. The station isn\u2019t empty, though\u2014it\u2019s crawling with murderous machines and warped creatures that want nothing more than to finish you off. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each time you fall, you come to again at the start, trapped in a brutal cycle of survival. With no way out but forward, you\u2019ll have to fight, scavenge, and push deeper into the ship\u2019s corridors to uncover what really happened, piece together your lost past, and break free before your next death becomes the last one that truly sticks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No Deadzones, only action<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

No part of the game will have you feel bored, the game\u2019s split up into different zones, and each one has a main story mission that, once completed, unlocks a bunch of side quests for you to try out. Between runs, you get to spend the points you\u2019ve earned on upgrades, which keeps things feeling rewarding even if a run didn\u2019t go your way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a few hours of playing, I honestly felt like I\u2019d seen almost everything the game had to offer by the time I wrapped up Zone 2\u2019s story mission\u2014but even then, there were little details and upgrades that kept me coming back for more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As you take out enemies, you\u2019ll pick up way more than just guns. Clearing rooms can get you Augments, Perks, and Items, and Safe Rooms drop Superior Items. Augments give you crazy bonuses that can totally change how you tear through enemies, Perks make you tougher or hit harder, and Items give little passive boosts to fine-tune your build. Superior Items do all that too, plus you can upgrade them between runs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Get the right mix of all this stuff and you trigger a Synergy, which gives a special ability that can basically break the game if you stack enough. You can really feel yourself getting stronger with every buff you grab\u2014it actually makes a big difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If things ever start feeling a bit too easy, you can crank up the mission difficulty\u2014higher difficulty means better rewards. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On top of that, you can team up with two friends and blast your way through the ship together. I didn\u2019t get a chance to try co-op myself, so I can\u2019t speak from personal experience, but from what I\u2019ve heard, the connection works well and you shouldn\u2019t run into any problems playing with others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deadzone: Rogue was totally worth the time - the second you start playing, it just grabs you with that \u201cone more run\u201d feeling\u2014you\u2019ll dive back in even after getting wrecked over and over. Every attempt throws something new at you, whether it\u2019s an upgrade, a weapon, or a perk you haven\u2019t tried yet, so it never feels stale. And honestly, you don\u2019t even need a squad to have fun. Even playing solo, there\u2019s hours of fast, high-energy action that keeps you glued to the screen. It\u2019s the kind of game that makes time disappear without you even noticing.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n
