I think I just watched the BEST animation of the Year!

Debuted on Rotten Tomatoes with 100% pure positive reviews and Metacritic cited it as “universal acclaim.”

It is so heartwarming, heart-wrenching & so beautifully, intrinsically human in a movie with NO humans!

The emotive mood lighting, the delightfully hilarious creative choices, and the whimsical jokes all serve toward a wholesome story that grips you and never lets go. It stirs up all the feels we experienced with The Iron Giant—if you remember that classic.

This film, while bringing a fresh take, channels the same emotional depth, inviting you to let your kids experience what could very well be this generation’s Iron Giant, with its own twists and turns, while keeping an original, heartfelt core.

Thanks to some amazing people I got the chance to watch The Wild Robot with my younger brother who has downs syndrome and he loved every second of the movie, he got so sucked in at times that he forgot to eat the popcorn he was holding in his hands and when we were walking out of the cinema his words to me were “Such an awesome movie!” and then proceeded to ask a multitude of questions about the characters and when will he get to watch it again.

Now after that intro let’s dive into a mini no spoiler review.

The Wild Robot starts at a leisurely pace, gradually introducing us to its world of characters. While the beginning might feel slow, it sets a solid foundation for the story. As the movie progresses, the pace picks up significantly, drawing viewers deeper into the narrative.

Each character in the film evolves beautifully, becoming distinct and relatable. Their journeys of conquering fears and overcoming shortcomings are portrayed with such authenticity that it’s easy to connect with and root for them. By the end, you’ll find yourself loving each character for their unique strengths and growth, and I am not going to lie you might end up shedding a tear or two.

The music in the film is exceptionally well done, enhancing the atmosphere and emotional depth of each scene and the characters within. Coupled with the amazing art direction, which brings the characters and their world to life with stunning visuals, it balances the characters so well that it gives them those human qualities that makes them so relatable and likable.

Some of the words from the people who attended the pre-screening

The Wild Robot is an experience you don’t want to miss especially with your kids or in my case my younger brother.” – Matthew Clarke

The Wild Robot

“The Wild Robot sweeps you off your feet and drops you into a world where tech and nature collide in the most spectacular way. It’s not just a story—it’s an electrifying adventure packed with survival, self-discovery, and heartwarming moments. Roz, the robot, and her snug little hideaway become a sanctuary for all the animals, and every moment they share is pure magic. You’ll be flooded with emotions you didn’t see coming. The visuals are out of this world, and the feels? They hit like a tidal wave. Get ready to cry, laugh, and everything in between. This is one wild ride you don’t want to miss!”*

“A great family movie that takes you on a roller-coaster of emotions. Incredible animation with an equally amazing soundtrack. It’s not the normal perception of robots that we all have, as this movie makes you fall in love with the character Roz. Felt a tear or two roll down as we’re taught a lesson about selfless love.”

The Wild Robot

DreamWorks proves once again that they still excel at creating heartfelt and original storytelling and you can add The Wild Robot to the list, overflowing with adventure, and deep emotional moments, the film possesses every element to become a beloved modern family film.

I thoroughly enjoyed the film, when it comes to feeling disconnected, lost, or like an outsider trying to find your place, The Wild Robot really strikes a chord on many levels and will have you laughing and crying at it all. The movie excels in its straightforward portrayal of parenthood, portraying it as a mix of instinct or “programming”, adaptability, and deep emotional bonds. The Wild Robot is destined to become an animated classic and a must-watch film for the family.

The Wild Robot is an emotional journey, an adventure, and a heartwarming tale rolled into one. It’s a must-see for families, especially with younger audiences who will find so much joy in Roz’s world. Whether you’re in it for the laughs, the tears, or the visual splendour, this is a movie that lingers long after the credits roll. As an animation a perfect 10.
