Fans of Rick and Morty are in for a major treat this September, with Ian Cardoni, the voice behind the brilliant, chaotic and endlessly unpredictable Rick Sanchez, confirmed to appear at Comic Con Africa 2026.

Cardoni will join the growing line-up of international guests at the event, which takes place from 24 to 26 September 2026 at the JHB Expo Centre in Johannesburg.

Best known for voicing Rick Sanchez in Adult Swim’s two-time Emmy Award-winning animated series Rick and Morty, Cardoni stepped into the role during Season 7 and has continued to bring the eccentric scientist to life through Seasons 7 and 8, with Season 9 currently airing.

For fans, the opportunity offers more than simply meeting the voice behind one of animation’s most recognisable characters. Cardoni has become an important part of the show’s next chapter, taking on the challenge of portraying Rick’s distinctive combination of genius, sarcasm, reckless behaviour and, occasionally, questionable life decisions.
