NetherRealm Studios and publisher Warner Bros. Games revealed that Mortal Kombat 1 is finally getting cross-play support in February 2024. Mortal Kombat 1 is available to play on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch, it will soon be possible to play with friends online on other platforms.

NetherRealm Studios community manager Tyler Lansdown revealed the news in a recent Kombat Kast episode, confirming that cross-play will be available for Mortal Kombat 1 in February next year. “Cross-play is coming in February between PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, so we’re very excited about that,” said Lansdown.
However the Switch version has had its uphill battles when it launched with numerous performance issues, broken visuals, and bugs, those have since been fixed but very likely will need a bit more work for it to have full Cross-play.
Series co-creator Ed Boon added that there will be a “big surprise” after the story DLC releases, though it’s anyone’s guess what that is. Fans speculate that more DLC characters will be announced from other IPs and franchises. At the moment, the game’s Kombat Pack 1 features DLC fighters in the form of The Boys‘ Homelander, Invincible‘s Omni-Man, and Peacemaker, among other epic characters.
Mortal Kombat 1 is available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Nintendo Switch.
